529 College Savings Program

Are you interested in helping someone you care about save for college or trade school? You can set up a Scholarshare plan for anyone you choose - a relative or friend - anyone! The 529 College Savings Program is an excellent way to do this. UC offers a 529 Plan through the TIAA-CREF California Scholarshare program.

Through convenient payroll deductions you can set aside as little as $15 per month on an after-tax basis and invest in one of five TIAA-CREF mutual fund options. While contributions are after-tax, currently all earnings from a 529 plan are "free" (not just deferred) from Federal and State income tax when they are paid out if they are used to pay for qualified higher education expenses at an accredited institution.

A representative from TIAA-CREF will be on campus to present the California ScholarShare program.  If interested, please plan to attend one of the following brief sessions to get all the details.

When:

Wednesday, August 10th and
Tuesday, August 23rd

Where:

Semel Institute Auditorium (formerly known as NPI Auditorium)
720 Westwood Blvd.

Time:

There will be two presentations each day lasting approx 30 - 45 minutes each: 10:00am and 11:30am

Reservations are not needed; seating is available on a first come, first served basis.
